Guiying's Story 

An ancient Chinese heroine, Mu Guiying first appears in the Generals of the Yang Family legends. Despite being a teenage girl, Guiying took up arms and - in a dual - beat the man she would later fall in love with. Flouting social convention, she proposed to him – dashing her family's hopes of an arranged marriage. Rather than staying home, she protected her children by fighting for them on the battlefield - and held the position of commanding general well into her 80s. A legend, in every sense of the word.
