Boudica's Story

Boudica’s story is indisputably epic. She was a Celtic Queen who waged a war against the entire Roman Empire to stop them from oppressing her people. Obviously, Roman law didn’t allow inheritance through the female line, so after the death of her husband the Romans thought that Boudica’s Iceni tribe was fair game. Boudica fearlessly showed them their mistake. An unforgettable moment in history - but one that was only recorded in two classical manuscripts. The appetite for strong women in the popular culture of the time obviously wasn’t quite there...
