Frida's Story
Artist and icon, Frida refused to conform to the harsh gender inequality of her time. She embraced her sexuality, her bisexuality, and used her art to explore subjects her peers felt were taboo. Not only did she refuse to alter her features which others deemed too masculine - her monobrow and faint moustache - she used her self-portraits to exaggerate them… and did this whilst also embracing flowers, ribbons and dresses. She was unapologetically herself
